…and I am terrible about stretching properly when left to my own devices. So I am making a commitment to a weekly yoga practice. I tried hot yoga for the first time last weekend, and I really enjoyed it. Also, I realized how weak my upper body is… which gives me the motivation to KEEP GOING. Time to make the whole machine stronger! I am going again tomorrow morning so I can get in some stretching and sweating before a long car ride to Portland.
I went for a run last night with two other ladies, and it was fun to have some company. The miles are definitely breezier with friends.
I don’t have much in the way of running updates, but here are some life updates:
-I recently dipped my feet back into learning, and I’ve been taking a graduate-level history course. It is really challenging for me, because history is not my academic background. However, I am doing well! Yesterday I got back an essay which was HARD for me, and I got an “A”!!! I know grades aren’t supposed to matter, yadda yadda yadda, but I could have cried it felt so wonderful. I think I am able to tackle things even if they make me a little fearful, all thanks to running. I know I can get to the finish line.
-On Friday, I applied to a doctoral program… my first choice program. I thought I would be on pins and needles about the outcome, but I actually feel content with whatever the outcome may be. If I am not accepted, it’s not yet my time. If I am accepted, I have some decisions to make.
-My job is changing in that I will be assuming more responsibility soon. This is exciting and a bit overwhelming. I choose to remain optimistic!
-My daughter is 2.5 and she just blows my mind each day with her intelligence, articulation, and spirit! I love being a mama.
