Running happy

I went for a beautiful 3 mile run yesterday after work. Both of my knees feel great. I was able to let go and soak in the beautiful weather and be with my thoughts for a few minutes. Running rewarded me with a brief yet much needed meditation. I am so grateful that my body is feeling strong again. I am honoring my recovery plans by staying within a comfortable distance, and disregarding speed. However, I was not disappointed with my pace yesterday.

When I got home, I diligently stretched and worked with my foam roller to work out any tightness. I will be off to the pool shortly for some aqua jogging and strength training. Happy hump day!

  1. The mental meditation part of running is probably the part I’ve missed the most during my recovery. I never thought I’d see the day when going for a run lifted my mood and helped me shrug off an otherwise stressful day or week. And in the sun! How divine!

  2. I am so glad you are feeling strong and healthy (and smart) on your runs! Tomorrow I’ll be meditating on my run, too. I’m looking forward to it. 🙂
