Thursday- SICK

Friday- 9 miles

Total mileage: 19 miles

I’ve got to say that a week of sickness was a bit of a bummer, but I am feeling much better today and looking forward to killing 9 miles this evening. As usual, the middle part of the run will be with buddies, which is a nice incentive to keep going. It always energizes me for the last few miles that I do solo.

I went to my barbershop chorus practice last night, and I am starting to get the hang of our repertoire. Singing makes me aware of my breath and my muscles in a unique way. I left the rehearsal with high spirits, and I woke up this morning with the feeling that most of this sickness is behind me.

My goals for this weekend include a continuation of cleaning and organizing from last weekend. Thrilling, I know. However, with plans for the next weekends of the foreseeable future (all the way through March, really), I will soak up normal quiet time and do what I can to restore order to my home. I am telling you, it takes months to recover from the holidays. Especially with a toddler (also known as a daily tornado).

I am succeeding in my quest to hydrate more often. This week, my intention is to eat fewer things out of packages. I don’t have any dietary restrictions, but I’d like to prepare more vegetables, and not just in salad form (I do love a Big Salad). We’re signing up for a weekly organic produce bin through a local distributor, and I hope that helps us get going on the veggie front.
