Running at night is growing on me. The icy sidewalks sparkle beneath the light of my headlamp. Orion shines brilliantly and follows me around my neighborhood. I come home and my hair smells like chimney smoke, my cheeks are apple red.

I am taking a day to recover, and perhaps I will go for a short run tomorrow. I will do some cross training on Saturday, and a 6.5 mile trail run with the running club I joined takes place this Sunday morning. I’ve had minimal soreness in the last few weeks; I’d like to work on doing a better job with hydration before and after my runs.

Until next time…
